Was supposed to publish this yesterday, but time got away from me. Pretend you are reading this on Friday.
I am very much looking forward to this weekend. It has been a tiring week, for sure. Gwen's sickness with the accompanying sleep loss, finding out she might have something asthma-like (don't need to do anything for it day-to-day, but from now on, the second she gets sick, she gets a inhaler - Flovent... ::sad face::), two flat tires, and busy days at work. Mama is tired.
It was beautiful on Wednesday, high in the upper 60s! It was such a beautiful reprieve, and I spent some extra time outside. Yesterday was cooler, but still above average, and I was happy I had plans that involved a nice walk to visit with a friend for lunch. Trav was the one to take Gwen to her doctor in the morning, and I'm so glad that she was sounding much better, was allowed to return to school (especially since he had just dropped her off when the second flat tired occurred), but I was not so happy to hear that the doc thinks this is going to be a reoccurring problem.
Today ended up being cold, cold, cold again. Oh ridiculous winter, I'm so over you.
Aw, hope Gwen is feeling better, and you are able to rest, too. I am always wound so tight when one of the kids is sick, especially if they are coughing at night. I wake up to every little sound and end up popping all of them in bed with me. We are very familiar with the Flovent inhaler at our house. Good times.

DeleteJulia just started taking the Flovent every day (morning/night) again about a month ago. Previously, she was on it for a year, and we took her off of it at her ped's recommendation. She was pretty much a hot mess without it. Ended up getting referred out to a ped immunologist, and the first thing he did was put her back on it. I hate the thought of having to give it to her every day for months? years? (Her doc seems to think she may need it less or not at all as she gets older.) However, without it she coughs all. the. time. And if she gets so much as a sniffle, forget it. Without the daily meds, she coughs to the point where she throws up and coughs non-stop when she has a bad cold. Side effects? I think her appetite has improved. She may hit 40 pounds yet.
DeleteOh jeez, poor girl. How old is she? My brother had asthma as a kid and had to do daily nebulizers, but he grew out of it by the time he was a teenager, and it doesn't bother him now. Hopefully Julia will be the same. I'm glad to hear she hasn't had any bad side effects.
DeleteMy girls are on an inhaler as-needed (used often during winter colds, but almost not at all in the summer). We haven't noticed significant side-effects.
